When it comes to maintaining your overall health and well-being, it's easy to make the excuse that life gets too crazy for you to work out and/or that you didn't have time to make a healthy dinner. But, sometimes, a little goes a long way. Walmart is hosting America's Biggest Health Fair this Saturday, Oct. 10 from 12-4 p.m., and wants to help you reach your health goals by emphasizing the idea that just 10 minutes can make your life healthier.
My days are almost always whirlwinds, so I don't get to spend as much time exercising as I'd ideally like. But, 10 minutes really does make a huge difference in my well-being, even if it's just in regards to my state of mind. I always make time for at least ten minutes of meditation, whether it's in the morning prior to work or before going to bed. Meditation is a wonderful way to ease your mind and practice proper breathing techniques, and I really enjoy meditating prior to bed, because it helps me wind down and unplug for the day. I've found that meditating before bed reduces both restlessness and nightmares during the night.
My greatest accountability partner is my fur-baby, Sadie. On days when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to do cardio, all she has to do is stand by the door and look at me excitedly for me to get my dose of motivation. Baby girl needs her exercise as much as I do, if not more! Even just a 10-minute walk makes a huge difference, especially if it's during a quick break from work. I feel recharged and ready to conquer the remainder of the work day, and a walk does wonders for my creative process, which I very much need for my work.
Instead of trying to tackle health and fitness goals that require a lot of time, Walmart wants to help you focus on what you can do in just 10 minutes to kickstart a healthier life.
