Kind Is The New Pretty + INSTAGRAM GIVEAWAY

by Jennifer Thai in

I really love when fashion plays a role in supporting a great cause. Especially when it's a cause against bullying, an issue that I personally feel doesn't get addressed as often as it should. Bullying happens all the time, no matter where you are or how old you are. It's so unfortunate that people choose a route other than compassion when it comes to how they treat others.  A pretty face is one thing. A beautiful soul is another.

Compassion Brands is a network of brands targeting consumers from a variety of demographics. The idea behind Compassion Brands is to raise awareness and funds for the anti-bullying community, and spread the idea of compassion for others and love for oneself. One of the latest brands, Generation Kind, recently launched at Target, and offers a variety of messages and styles.

The subtle messaging on these fashion pieces not only reminds the wearer to be proud of herself, but also reinforces positive, compassionate behavior from others. A portion of proceeds from each item sold is donated to its partnered charity, and on each tag, the crisis number hotline from the charity is provided, giving people direct access to guidance and mentoring.

These pieces aren't just stylish, but also functional - I love that they can be dressed both casually and for an occasion.
