Calligraphy Hair Cut at Salon Inga

Take a second to think about a haircut. Like me, you probably immediately thought of scissors as the tool to make it happen, and that each stylist has his/her own technique that makes a haircut unique, right? If that's the case, you're likely unaware that there's a whole other tool that's changing the dimension (literally) of how a haircut is performed.

Insert the Calligraphy Cut here. It’s an innovative method for cutting hair, created by German master stylist Frank Brormann. The pen-shaped tool offers a precise, angled cut to each hair strand, allowing stylists to create customized looks based on their clients’ face shapes and preferences. Only 10% of salons in America are certified to offer the Calligraphy Cut as a service, and Salon Inga, located in Carrollwood, is the only salon in Tampa with Calligraphy Cut certification.

As part of a special blogger event hosted by Salon Inga, my sister and I had the opportunity to spend an evening with Inge herself, and experience/witness the Calligraphy Cut in action. Inge gave a brief demonstration of how the Calligraphy Cut works: imagine the way you’d typically cut the stems of flowers - you typically cut them at an angle to allow for better water absorption and longevity. That’s exactly the benefits that a Calligraphy Cut offers - better absorption, softer layers and less breakage.

While my sister was getting her special hair cut done, I was being treated to the most relaxing express facial and blowout service - Salon Inga places emphasis on providing beautification services for the busy, on-the-go woman, much like myself. Because they understand that some women don’t have two full hours to dedicate to a beauty service, they offer an express seaweed facial and blow dry & style service that gets you out the door and feeling refreshed in an hour.

I received a Repêchage brightening treatment from Tanja that left my skin feeling smooth, radiant and rejuvenated - it felt amazing! And while my mask was settling, she shampooed and conditioned my hair, and gave me the most relaxing scalp massage, to prep me for my blowout.

Post-facial, Alex worked her magic on my typically straight, limp hair to deliver beautiful, bouncy waves using a combination of Kerastase products and hair products formulated specifically for Salon Inga. I was such a fan of how my hair turned out - full of life, and weightless!

My sister’s Calligraphy Cut turned out gorgeous - the layers were indeed so soft! Feeling the ends of her hair, you can definitely tell the different between the Calligraphy Cut and a regular hair cut.

We truly enjoyed our time at Salon Inga and left the salon feeling like new people! If you’re craving something new when it comes to your hair, I definitely recommend paying Salon Inga a visit to check out the Calligraphy Cut. I will absolutely be back for another express facial and blowout - my service was so relaxing and invigorating!
