Get Your Style On at International Plaza
Every fashion week season, Get Your Style On returns at International Plaza, offering complimentary personal shopping appointments with an expert stylist. Earlier this week, I got the chance to experience a two-hour personal shopping session with Valerie Romas.
I met up with Valerie by the elevators at the upper level above Grand Court, and she went through my Get Your Style On consultation form, where I had answered questions about my day-to-day style and what I hoped to get out of our session. I considered my style as minimal and conservative, and wanted to step out of my comfort zone to put together a new ensemble that I wouldn't normally wear, but that was still "me."
She took me to Zara first to show me some great pieces for transitioning into fall, then we visited LOFT, where she opened my eyes to color. I've always stayed away from yellow, because I didn't think it complemented my skin tone. But Valerie introduced me to citron, a dark lemon shade that actually looked great against my skin tone and made me look tan, which is always a plus.
We moved on to J. Crew, where I fell in love with a graphic tee that had the cutest dog printed on it. I just had to get it, and we found ourselves the first piece to fall-inspired date night outfit. From there, we put together the rest of my ensemble with pieces from H&M and Forever 21. I am so excited to share the full outfit with you - be sure to check back next week for the outfit post!
