Couple's Day at the Salamander Spa at Innisbrook Resort

pH and I don’t take for granted the opportunities we get to relax and unwind as a couple—I think it’s such an important thing to make time for, whether it’s a date night out at a favorite restaurant or a trip to explore another city. Spa time is my go-to in-between option, and the Salamander Spa at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor is hands down my favorite resort spa in the Tampa Bay area. Their services and staff are top-notch and I always have the most relaxing experience after spending time there.

The gentlemen’s and ladies’ lounge areas and locker rooms come with all of the amenities, including fully-stocked bathrooms, private showers, saunas, fruit-infused water, tea selection and snacks. For couple’s massages, a couple’s suite is available with a fireplace and an in-suite dual rainfall shower.

We enjoyed a couple’s 50-minute Signature Ritual Massage, which included our choice of essential oils (I chose ‘Oolong’ with lime, oolong tea and lavender for balance/energy, while pH chose ‘Ore’ with bay laurel, violet and jasmine for euphoria/stimulation), a blissful scalp massage and an exfoliating foot scrub with hot towels. We took advantage of their dual rainfall shower after our service before taking time to relax and unwind in their serene outdoor space while they readied rooms for our next service: 50-minute Eminence Vitaskin Facials

These facials are catered to your personal skin care needs and we both got the Clear Vitaskin Facial to address breakouts and fully cleanse the skin. There was a “fire and ice” portion of the facial that swapped between hot and cold techniques to first increase blood flow and circulation, then reduce inflammation and swelling. It was a heavenly experience and we both left feeling so refreshed, with our skin so plump and smooth!

Following our spa services, we headed to Packard’s Steakhouse, Innisbook Resort’s signature restaurant located on the Copperhead Golf Course. Chef McGroarty had dishes prepared for us to try and it was the perfect way to wrap up our visit at the resort—the Cocktail Shrimp & Crab Salad and Lobster Bisque were delicious. Even if you’re not a golfer, Innisbrook Resort is a great escape for everyone, and the serene environment of the golf resort is a perfect complement to a relaxing spa visit and meal.

Cocktail Shrimp & Crab Salad: Chilled tomato fume, herbs & fresh horseradish

Lobster Bisque with sherry & Boursin

Chicken Salad Sandwich: Shredded chicken, pickled mustard seeds, red onion, aioli, crispy chicken skin, lettuce & tomato

Caesar Salad: Chopped romaine, grana padano, herb croutons, housemade dressing & added blackened chicken breast

This was pH’s first visit to Innisbrook Resort and Salamander Spa, and it’s safe to say I’ve recruited a new fan—we will absolutely be back for another round of rest and relaxation. I have personally experienced all of the resort and hotel spas from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater Beach to Tampa, and I feel confident in saying that Salamander Spa is worth the drive and is the best experience you’ll have.
